Legendary party boy Corey Worthington has once again made headlines after being charged with a serious assault. The 31-year-old, who gained global notoriety for throwing a wild party at his parents’ home in Narre Warren, Victoria in 2008, now faces a possible jail sentence of up to 10 years.

Worthington, who has since transformed his body and become a contestant on Australian Ninja Warrior, was charged with intentionally causing injury by detectives from the crime investigation unit. He is set to appear in Geelong Magistrates’ Court in May, but as of yet, has not engaged a lawyer to represent him.

The charges against Worthington stem from unknown allegations, with the police yet to provide further information. While Daily Mail Australia attempted to contact him for comment, he has not responded.

Worthington first made headlines when he put an open invitation to his 2008 party on MySpace, which led to more than 500 attendees. The party soon descended into a riot, with attendees throwing bottles at police and damaging property. It took more than 30 officers, the dog squad, and a police helicopter to bring the situation under control.

But it wasn’t just the party that made Worthington famous. It was his unrepentant interview with A Current Affair’s Leila McKinnon that went viral. Wearing outrageous yellow sunglasses, bright yellow hair, and a floral cap, Worthington refused to take responsibility for the riot.

While he did apologize, he also said he couldn’t be blamed for everything that happened and that he didn’t do it. He claimed the police told him to stay inside so he wouldn’t get in trouble, which he did, and that he wouldn’t remove his sunglasses.

Despite his wild reputation, Corey tried to change his image in later years. He appeared on Big Brother season eight later in 2008 and then on Australian Ninja Warrior in 2018, displaying his newly buffed physique.

In 2015, Corey married his longtime girlfriend, Mel Borg, and became a father. He claimed to have left behind his partying ways and mended the rift with his parents.

In 2021, Corey acted as a spokesperson for an insurance company, claiming to be a changed man and offering to protect holiday homes from harm. Despite his attempt at rehabilitation, it seems as if Corey cannot escape his past.

With his impending court appearance, it remains to be seen what consequences Corey Worthington will face. However, one thing is for sure: this former party boy has left a lasting impact on Australian pop culture.#Teenage #party #boy #Ninja #Warrior #contestant #Corey #Worthington #charged #savage #assault
