F2 Logistics Gives Their All Despite Loss in Semifinals Game 1
F2 Logistics went head to head against Creamline in Game 1 of their best-of-three semifinals series in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, but unfortunately, they lost the game (24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 15-25). Despite the loss, F2 Logistics coach, Regine Diego, did not offer any excuses and instead acknowledged that Creamline wanted the win more than they did. In Filipino, Diego said, “We lost because we didn’t want to win. Not because of injuries because all the teams are working hard. We lost because it’s our fault. We didn’t play our best today.”
Although F2 Logistics did not bring home the victory, Diego commended her second unit for their excellent performance in the second set. She also spoke about the importance of learning from this loss and moving forward positively. She highlighted that while she is a sore loser, it is essential to take this experience and use it to become better.
Diego expressed her disappointment with F2 Logistics’ fourth set’s poor showing, where they started 1-8, coming off a win in the third. She admitted that it has been a problem for them, but as a coach, she is trying to figure out how to motivate them to keep pushing even when they are down. “It’s the semifinals either you give your heart out, or nothing,” she said.
Regarding the team’s injured player, Myla Pablo, Diego clarified that her status is day-to-day, and they are waiting for her to be mentally and physically prepared before she joins them again. She ensured that she won’t risk one game for the sake of the team’s future in other conferences.
F2 Logistics will try to stay alive in Game 2 and stop Creamline from going to its fifth consecutive All-Filipino Finals on Tuesday at Mall of Asia Arena. Diego is reminding her team that they can’t stop whenever they want and that every point is crucial. “We’re already here. The opportunity is here. It’s either you grab it or not,” she said.
