Golf enthusiasts have their eyes set on the Valspar Championship as Adam Schenk leads the charge after the first two rounds. The tournament is being held in Palm Harbour, Florida, and features some of the best professional golfers in the sport. Schenk scored an impressive two-under 69 to maintain a one-shot lead over Kramer Hickok, who managed a 68.
Schenk is playing with a renewed sense of purpose, as his wife is expecting their first child. He is aiming to earn as many points as possible to take some time off after the birth of their baby boy. Schenk has been playing for ten consecutive weeks on the PGA Tour, and it’s evident that his experience is paying off.
Interestingly, Schenk credits his missed cut last week at The Players Championship as a way to recharge his batteries. He took 3.5 days off, choosing not to touch a club, during that time. The break paid off, as he was able to have a decent practice session and then played nine holes before teeing up for the pro-am.
Schenk’s putter was the real star of the show during his impressive round, sinking four out of five birdies from inside 10 feet. Speaking after his round, Schenk said, “I feel like a lot of times you… maybe shoot 2 under and you’re like, ‘It could have been 6 or 7.’ But it really couldn’t have been a ton better with the amount of putts I made.”
Schenk is a man possessed and is looking to continue his form heading into the next rounds. Some of the biggest names in golf are hot on his heels, including Tommy Fleetwood, Jordan Spieth, Cody Gribble, and Davis Riley, all within two shots of the lead. Sam Burns, the two-time defending champion, is hoping to make a comeback after a disappointing 73 puts him seven shots behind Schenk.
As golf fans wait with bated breath, it remains to be seen who will be crowned the champion of the Valspar Championship. Schenk has shown himself to be a formidable opponent, but the tournament is far from over. With some of the sport’s biggest names in the mix, these last few rounds promise to be exciting and closely contested.#Adam #Schenk #holds #lead #Tommy #Fleetwood #shots #Valspar #Championship #Golf #News
