Trump’s Attorney Confirms Surrendering to Authorities if Indicted in Manhattan
As a Manhattan grand jury considers indicting former President Donald Trump as soon as next week, his attorney Joe Tacopina confirmed that the former president would concede without complication if indicted. Manhattan investigators have been looking into Trump for allegedly sending $130,000 worth of hush money to Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress who accused Mr. Trump of having an affair with her in 2006.
Tacopina stated that they would follow normal procedure for white-collar indictments, and Trump would self-surrender to the district attorney’s headquarters in Lower Manhattan at a set date and time, as previously reported by Insider. There won’t be any standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office, Tacopina told the Daily News.
Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, has pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws due to his involvement in the payment. Cohen spent a year behind bars before being released due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In conclusion, if indicted, former President Trump will follow normal procedure and surrender to authorities. It remains to be seen whether or not an indictment will come to fruition, but if it does, we can expect the self-surrender to happen without incident.#Donald #Trumps #Attorney #Confirms #Surrender #Authorities #Indicted
