Variety Power of Women Event Honors Kelly Ripa, Natasha Lyonne, and More
The Variety Power of Women event is back and honor is being delivered to some of the entertainment industry’s top women. Among them are the beloved daytime TV icon Kelly Ripa and the veteran actress Natasha Lyonne, who will be sharing the spotlight with young adult author Judy Blume, actress Rosie Perez, and actress/singer Michaela JaĆ© Rodriguez.
The event, presented by Lifetime, is set to take place on April 4th in New York City, where the honorees will appear on the cover of the Power of Women issue due to be released on March 29th. Writer and comedian Ego Nwodim of Saturday Night Live fame has been selected to host the event.

The prolific White Men Canāt Jump actress Rosie Perez, who is now a mainstay on Showtimeās Your Honor, is expected to highlight Heart 9/11, a volunteer team of first responders who bonded following the tragic, terrorist attacks of 2001.
Judy Blume, a beloved author and household name for young women everywhere, is scheduled to highlight the National Coalition Against Censorship. The organization fights against censorship and defends the right to read, write, and express oneself freely through books, art, and other forms of media. Sheās currently gearing up for the April 2023 release of the film Are You There God? Itās Me Margaret, which is based on her adored 1970 novel. Blume is a producer on the movie, which stars Rachel McAdams, among others.
Michaela JaĆ© Rodriguez is the first trans actress to be nominated in a lead category for an Emmy Award and to win a Golden Globe Award for her performance as Blanca in FXās series Pose. Sheās also currently appearing in Loot on Apple TV+. Rodriguez will address her involvement with the Rainforest Alliance on the topic of equal rights.
